IMPORTANT REMINDER!

School Closing/Delayed Opening
In the event of inclement weather, please note that if Smithtown School District is closed, Sts. Philip and James School is closed. If Smithtown School District is operating on a delayed opening, Sts. Philip and James School will be delayed. Any school closing/delayed opening will be posted on our school website. In the event of a delayed opening, STUDENTS MUST BRING IN THEIR OWN LUNCH - NO LUNCH WILL BE PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL. In addition, you can obtain school closing/delayed opening information on News 12 TV and website, Newsday website, as well as several radio stations and their websites including WALK radio, WBLI and B-103.

Early Dismissal
Please keep in mind that we deal with several school districts and that each district decides independently of the others as to any early dismissal. Immediately upon notification from a district that they have declared an early dismissal - notice will be posted on our school website as to that particular district. Please note that school will remain open until 3:00 p.m. despite districts closing early and After Care will still be held. Walkers will be dismissed at 3:00 p.m. In the event your district declares an early dismissal and your child normally takes the bus home, he/she will be put on the bus UNLESS YOU NOTIFY THE SCHOOL OTHERWISE. If your child is to be a Walker and you prefer him/her to take the bus home - YOU MUST NOTIFY THE SCHOOL OR YOUR CHILD WILL REMAIN A WALKER.

PLEASE REGULARLY CHECK THE SCHOOL WEBSITE TO STAY INFORMED!

Thank you for your cooperation.

THANK YOU!

Through the generosity of our families, students, faculty, and staff we were able to send a donation of $1,346.00 to Catholic Relief Services for the benefit of the people of Haiti in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake. Let us keep the people of Haiti in our prayers and may God bless the efforts of all the relief workers.

On behalf of the people of Haiti I would like to thank you for organizing the fundraiser that will benefit the victims of the earthquake. The kindness and generosity of the Sts. Philip and James community will make a difference in the lives of many of the earthquake victims. I've been blessed to have had no earthquake victims in my family thus far and would like to take this opportunity to ask that everyone pray for the thousands that were not so fortunate.

Sincerely,
Nicole Duprey

Dear Mr. Giordano, Teachers, Staff and the SSPJ family,

I just wanted to say thank you for your contribution toward the relief efforts in Haiti. I'm very proud that my children are attending a school like SSPJ that shows a great deal of caring for people in need. I'm from Haiti, and thank God the lives of my family members were spared from this massive earthquake. As one might see on the news, the capital city of Haiti which is Port-Au-Prince is fully destroyed. The people in that area now have no homes, no hospitals, no schools, no government offices, and no businesses. The people in Haiti are in desperate need of every help they can get. Please keep them in your prayers and continue to help if you can.

With many thanks,
The Laguerre Family

Attention Parents:

As you are aware, due to the ongoing construction in the Church, daily Masses are being held in the Old Church. Due to space limitations in the Old Church, our students will not be able to attend First Friday Mass as a school until the work has been completed (expected completion in March). Rest assured however, that our students will be going to Mass on a regular basis with their class.
